This table compares the relative attributes of the different soundboards I build. These are generalizations based on observations made on many guitars. Keep in mind that the differences are subtle, yet significant enough to be repeatable. A hallmark of the double tops I build is the high efficiency of notes played in the upper register of the first string, where the low string energy benefits from the weight reduction in the soundboard. The increased vitality of these notes in comparison to those in the solid top guitars is manifested in increased speed of response, volume and sustain.
